Additional recommendations included the streamlining of customer service functions to make them user-friendlier. Based on those recommendations, in July 2002, Governor McGreevey terminated the state’s contract with WorldCom and selected ACS to take over the E-ZPass operations. McGreevey charged the DOT with developing reforms and recommendations for improving the system.
